ENGAGE.EU Annual Conference is the flagship event of our Alliance, bringing together students, university staff, researchers, civil society members, policymakers, and innovators from across Europe. It is a unique opportunity to exchange ideas, strengthen cooperation, and develop innovative solutions for the future of our Alliance.
 
Each year, a different ENGAGE.EU partner university takes on the exciting challenge of hosting the event. In October 2025, University Toulouse Capitole is proud to welcome you to its dynamic campus, offering an inspiring space to share knowledge, showcase progress, and position ourselves at the heart of the ENGAGE.EU community.

Campus tour (20 people): Discover the various campuses of Toulouse Capitole University, from its different architectural styles to its history as the first university founded in France in 1229.
Tour of Toulouse (30 people): The city of Toulouse invites you on a tour through its narrow streets to discover its history and culture.
Toulouse Orienteering Race (40 people): Discover Toulouse and the UT Capitole campus through the theme of ‘sustainable development’ by solving puzzles and taking part in team treasure hunts!

Environmental impact of your trip

We are dedicated to establishing an eco-responsible approach in both the organization and execution of the event. Our commitment to sustainability is reflected in several key initiatives:

  • Sustainable Catering: We will be offering multiple entirely vegetarian meal options. Our caterers are selected for their eco-responsible practices, utilizing local and seasonal products to minimize our environmental impact and meals will be served with eco-friendly tableware to reduce waste.
  • Minimal Goodies: To minimize waste, we will be providing only essential items such as notepads and pens upon request.
  • BYO (Bring Your Own) Initiative: We encourage all participants to bring their own water bottles and note-taking materials to further reduce waste.
  • Digital Agendas: To minimize paper usage, all agendas and relevant documents will be available in digital format.
  • Waste Management: We kindly ask all participants to sort their waste appropriately to facilitate recycling efforts.

By adopting these practices, we aim to create an event that is not only enriching but also respectful of our environment. We thank you for your cooperation and support in making this event a sustainable success.
In this sense, we would like also to estimate the impact of travel related to this event.

By Train or Bus

If you're arriving by train at Matabiau Station or by coach, you can easily reach the Capitole by metro or bus. From the SNCF station, take metro line A in the direction of Basso Cambo—the Capitole is just the second stop. Toulouse has two metro lines, and you can purchase tickets at any metro station entrance. A single ticket costs €1.8.

By Car

If you come by car, take the western ring road, exit Ponts Jumeaux-Amidonniers  (n°30). But parking is a real headache in the city centre. Please note that parking in the city center can be challenging. The university car park is reserved for university staff and faculty members. However, a paid underground parking facility (Parking Arnaud Bernard) is available just a 5-minute walk from the university.

By Plane

If you come by plane, you will fly over the city centre before landing. If you are lucky, you will realize why Toulouse has been called the pink city. At the airport, shuttles will transfer you to the city centre. The nearest bus stop is Compans Caffarelli. Young people can enjoy reduced transfer tickets (about 3 € from airport to city centre).

Getting around the campus

  • Metro & Tramway: Operated by Tisséo, the metro (2 lines) and tramway (2 lines) provide fast and reliable connections across the city, including direct access to the airport and main train stations. Ask the driver to drop you rue des Puits Creusés, in front of the car park entrance of Toulouse Capitole University.
  • Taxis & VTC Services: Taxis are available throughout the city, and VTC services like Uber operate in Toulouse, offering flexible transport options.
  • VéloToulouse: The city’s bike-sharing service offers an eco-friendly way to explore Toulouse, with numerous stations located throughout the city center.
